reef-luva
Has any body used this tester before. I need to start testing my fresh water source. Or if any body can turn me on to a better one, please do. http://www.waterfiltersonline.com/detail.a...TDS-Meter-4-HMD I buy our drinking water ( and top off water) from a water store here in Burbank. When the guy first opened it 6 years ago, he had all new equipment, ozone generator, solid carbon plus crushed coconut shell, R/O and ultra violet lights....I helped him assemble some of this so I was sure of the water quality and never questioned it. NOW, almost seven years later AND three owners later, I am not so sure this latest guy is keeping up his maintenance the way he should. It takes a lot of money to maintain it the way it should and all the owners complained about not making money, that's why people keep selling it, even the first owner. When I asked him about the filters and everything, he looked at me like I was insulting him and in his Russian-Armenian accent said, "OF COURSE I CHANGE, I DON'T, PEOPLE DON'T BUY WATER!!" ...why don't I feel any better after this statement??? Like his customers would really know the difference, I DON'T!! I haven't noticed a difference in taste, but my reef was getting some cyno. I tried all the basic's...cutting down the lights, feeding and some extra water changes, I ended up having to use a little chemiclean and it's gone now, but I still need to find the cause. Thanx reefer's!!! Link to comment
paneubert
Cheaper on Amazon, and free shipping. TDS meters are all pretty decent. That is all I can add. Link to comment

sae647
i like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-HANNA-TDS1-TDS-Met...=item5638cf573c Link to comment
AZDesertRat
My personal choice is the HM Digital COM-100 but the TDS-3.is a good choice too. The TDS-4 will not measure temperature. The TDS EZ does not have the same level of accuracy at 3%+/- and it is not automatically temperature compensated nor will it measure temperature. The COM-100 and TDS-3 are both temp compensated plus the COM-100 can measure conductivity too. http://www.tdsmeter.com/img/selectionguide.jpg The Hanna will not measure temperature. Link to comment
