Chyendra
As my dad helps me build my hood for my 5gallon flat back hex, he doesn't think it will beable to hold up my planned 3x19 watt curly daylights, and my 2x13watt actinics. If i could place all the bulb on the inside top of the hood instead of the sides, it would stand a better chance of not falling apart. So what do i do... pack it with 13watt retros?? ( http://ahsupply.com/twox.htm) I guess i could find the money to do a 70watt MH... but the tank is acrylic and i'm worried about it melting or something. I know it depends on what i want to keep. If i had PC's i want to beable to keep zoos, blue shrooms, and maybe a birdsnest. If i got the MH i would definiatly keep SPS's and zoos too. the tank is 16" Long, 8" wide at the widest point and 5" wide at the narrowest point and 10.5" tall (the canopy is 6" tall) what would you do? Chyendra
what about these 70watt MH ballasts? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=26216 Do they run singled ended or doubled ended MH's??? Link to comment
567a
seach baby search. http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/showthread...+halide+ballast m98's are really meant for single ended bulbs. unless the thing is made of aluminum foil I think dad is being overly cautious on how much weight the hood will support. check some of the other posts - everyone else seems to run out of room far before there's a weight issue. Chyendra
thank you, i have been trying to search and hadn't found that yet. I just found this article http://www.aquarium-lighting-guide.com/met...tal-halide-ansi I agree that my dad is being a little paranoid. I guess we'll just have to test it once it's finished to see if it will work. Link to comment
