imsuperjp
i just put in 2 maxi 600 powerheads in my 25 gallon tank. when i turned them on, the water got cloudy. is that normal or do i have too many power heads? Link to comment
Aiptasia
They're rated at 160 gph, so if they're both on at the same time, you're looking at 320 gph at the most. I don't think that's too much for a reef tank, but using a wavetimer may help. As to whether or not they caused the cloudiness problem, we need to know more about your tank. Give us a rundown of everything in your tank. Then, tell us how long it's been set up and how you set it up. Link to comment
matt the fiddler
it is as much a where you aim them as how many gph you got.. if they are right nrear the sand bed.. i would say that is a problem.. also realize tht the rock woudl be getting a lot of "dust" on it that woudl be getting blown around- wait a day.. and see what your tank looks like... unless you are pointing it at a coral that is getting it's flesh ripped apart- no need to worry about high gph issues... i have a 25 with 4-5 pumps depending on my mood... well into 700 gph ..... now 2 of those are buried with live rock- pointed at liverock... .. so the flow gets killed almost imediatly... [keep in mind i have 45-50 pounds of live rock- so that is a way to make up for the blockage to the current Link to comment
imsuperjp
Does the current affect the fish in any way? I have 2 very small clown fish. Also, where do ya hide your powerheads if even. Link to comment
