Is this an orange sponge on my duncan?

And will it hurt it?

In the pic, the orange color BEHIND the coral is just a terra-cotta colored rock. The stuff on the duncan just appeared suddenly.

+1 It looks a little funky but pretty sure it is just the coral. The skin on my duncans is bright green.

If it was the same color as the ducan before it might mean your not supplying all the things a ducan need to surrive. Most likely it was blue and now brown which means its falling on its reserves of zooethalne to keep itself alive.

If you have a sponge you have nothing to worry about.I think alot of people dont realize sponges are common.

90 percent sure of all that junk above.

reference to the brown mosaic on the coral.

I'm still goin with skin, maybe irritated skin if the coral isnt opening well. but if it is maybe something's missing from the water like someone suggested. what color was this skin when you first got the coral, Damsel?
