danthenewreefman
DO you HAVE to feed a tank that only has soft coral in it? No livestock -- just liverock is in with the coral. I see others who asked this were told....not really MAYBE just a PINCH once in a while? I mean -- my thinking here is there will never be nutrients therefore I'll never have any "serious" algae issue. But does the lack of nutrients hurt soft coral growth? specifically zoa/palys Link to comment
paneubert
If all the soft coral is photosynthetic then the theory is that "they will survive with just light, but would benefit from supplemental feeding". Just like a plant...... Link to comment
danthenewreefman
Would a tank -- being fed only once a month need to have a CUC? would it ever grow algae? Link to comment
Daleo
It should have a light clean up crew. It would most probably grow SOME algae regardless. You have to remember softies will love the "dirty" tanks, which means algae and feedings. Link to comment
