Steve973
Dr Mac recommended that I dose with B-Ionic while curing my rock. Is this beneficial during this process? Link to comment
Aiptasia
B-ionic is a 2 part alkalinity/calcium suppliment, designed to not only stabilize the pH of your sea water, but re-suppliment it with necessary trace elements, such as calcium, strontium, etc. to your sea water. You're probably going to get mixed responses on this question. My advice would be to buy a calcium test kit and an alkalinity test kit, so that you know exactly when to dose. When the alkalinity falls below 8, and the calcium falls below 380 ppm, you can dose. Calcarious algaes (pink, purple, red) need those suppliments to grow and do well, so yes if the test kits say you need to add them during the cycling process, go ahead. I'm assuming you aren't curing your rock in the dark. Link to comment
Steve973
Ok, thanks. I'll pick them up soon. By the way, I believe I saw an aiptasia yesterday, just before I rearranged my rock. it's likely that it has been buried, but I'll be on the lookout for more. It was really tiny, but looking at images.google.com, I belive it was a baby one. Link to comment
