agoerl
Just wanted some idead of a power head for my 5.5. I was looking at a Regent Power head at Wallmart, it is only $18.00 and puts out 170 gph. Is that to much flow for a 5.5 nano, I now saltwater needs alot more current than freshwater does. Just wondering what gph I need and some good brand names. Link to comment
Aiptasia
That's 30 tank volumes or more per hour, awfully strong for a little tank. Aqua clear makes mini-jets that will do in the 100 gph range. In truth, it depends on the type of corals you're going to try and keep. If you're going for the hardier, soft corals (zooanthis, mushrooms, etc.) you should aim for powerheads in the 75-125 gph range. Link to comment
agoerl
would a 60 gph ph be enough, I have an old one lying around, and I am also running a hob filter. Link to comment
