ElectroTT Posted February 15, 2004 Share Posted February 15, 2004 chello fellow reefers. this may sound a little silly but i was wondering. you know how frogspawns are on branches? when the frogspawn starts to grow, do new branches grow also? im a little confused. same with the torch. do new branches form with tissue on them? Fant Posted February 16, 2004 Share Posted February 16, 2004 Theres two ways new branches can form. 1 is the division of existing 'branches' or polyps. Two mouths will form they will stretch out and the center will constrict forming a figgure 8 type pattern, over time the 2 polyps will grow away from each other and become 2 seperate polyps. The other way is new tiny polyps will form underneath the ring of tentacles on the collar of flesh around the skeleton. The first method is the more frequent form of growth, i always see the little polyps on mine form underneath but very few if any survive to a decent size. Link to comment
