adding supplements?

Ok when U add supplements to your tank do you guys turn of the filters etc.....? for how long if you do ?

some say turn off all filtration some dont. I personally dont but since im only adding b-ionic its ok. Only time i would turn those off is when i use something like chemi-clean or feeding phytoplankton and brine shrimp. Just a waste of food to have to end up in the filter.
