Perpetual98 Posted February 13, 2004 Share Posted February 13, 2004 I've got a 120g that I'm working on setting up. It's 48" x 24" x 24". I've got a 400W mogul pendant already, and I know that putting it over the center of the tank is going to leave the sides a little underlit. Should I put something like a 175W or 250W MH on each side, or supplement it with some PC lighting? Also, what bulb should I go with for the 400W. A 10K or 20K? Thanks! Link to comment
Reefergal Posted February 13, 2004 Share Posted February 13, 2004 Hi, I am also currenly setting up a 125G. And MH is new to me also. My system is 250W on either end with a 400W in the center. From reading and lurking I have learned that 10K will give off a whiter light as a 20K will give off a bluer light. It all depends on what you plan on putting in your tank to choose the light you will need. I am sure someone with more exp will be able to chime in for you too.... Link to comment

How about a 400W 10k in the middle and a couple smaller halides on the side running at 20k for some blue? I suppose it all depends on which bulb is best and how much they are. Link to comment
