18GalNano
I was wondering what the reconmended wattts/gallon are for aquarium. The intent is to set the tank up with LR, LS, soft corals(Zoo's, shroom, polyps, etc.....), handfull of small fish(2 Clarki's, a watchman goby, and clown goby), and the standard reef cleaning crew of hermits, snails, serpent star, pistol shrimp, and maybe a cuke(never had one and I'm curious). I have a acrylic tank with an acrylic hood, so PC looks like the only way to go. The footprint of the tnak is 15" x 15" so my options are limited. Thanks in advance. Link to comment
Physh1
3-5 watts per gallon is a rough general proximity. For the corals you listed a PC kit would be nice...maybe a 2x32 watt or maybe a 96w powerquad. Cameron Link to comment
18GalNano
Thanks, I was thinking 4X24w with two 10000k and 2 actinic. Sound good? Link to comment

18GalNano
I was also thinking about doing a 2x24w pluss 2X18w, the 24 watt bulbs whould be 10000k and the 18 watt would be actinic. Thus they would be on a dusk dawn cycle. Just one more question, what is the best way to cycle your lights, I will be using timers, so how long for each one? That is all for now, I am sure I will have more questions. Link to comment
