i used the search and googled it

but i still dont completely understand what vodka dosing actually does.

from what i read, it makes bacteria eat everything then the skimmer pulls them out of the water?

not sure.

 

i have a 40br and was considering vodka dosing since people talk about it alot.

if i started, how much would i dose?

i want a simple straight forward answer to what vodka dosing achieves.

i know that vodka dosing makes corals look brighter and stuff

but how?

Vodka dosing is supposed to support a bacterial bloom which in turn eats nitrates/phosphates from the water, lowering your nitrate levels. Its tough in a nano because it can burn your corals. Go slowly if you try it.
