Hi

I just got both media basket and fuge basket today. I just wondering if I installed them incorreclty because I can not see and do not understand how will my cheato will be able to tumble around in the fuge basket.

How will the water be forced up from media basket to fuge basket when there is a gap between the two basket that water can leak out ?

For some reason both basket are not snugly fit in my BC29 HQI.

You will see in my picture that there are gap between fuge basket and 3rd chamber as well.

As you can see in picture (135.39K) that the basket has not only side room back also font space. What happen to water that leak out of basket and just flot around ?? I don't see how it will get circulate around.

I'm so confused right now.

I believe I answered all of this by email today maybe you haven't read those responses yet but for other that are reading.

  • Your chaeto does not need to tumble, this is accomplished in a much larger sump system with more flow.
  • The basket can only be so large to fit into the rear chamber. Look at the molding around the top, it is limited to this dimension.
  • You are not using the supplied stay hold/water director. See links all over website and installation page for videos and pictures.
  • The fuge basket and media basket are two sepearate parts. They are not connected and do not need to be.
  • The media basket is so wide to give other owners the option of a skimmer in that chamber, Tunze 9002. Thus the 1/2" gap.
  • Fill your water level up in chamber two so that the media basket and fuge basket are under water. Ignore your min/max line on the aquarium.
  • The BC29 and BC29HQI are exactly the same when it comes to most of the tank, including chamber design.

Thank you for letting me know that cheato will not tumble. I recieved your email today and yes , I read it carefully. I believe it did not address any cheato tumbling issue.

and why do I though it will tumble with my RIO6 HF in the first place ?

End of the discussion.

I didn't say will not, just that it doesn't need to or that usually tumbling occurs in a larger system. It also depends on the size of the ball. As it grows it will compact in the fuge, normal trimming is needed. We have had customers reporting "tumbling" with the fuge basket. It all depends on flow and size of the chaeto ball.

As long as you have water movement, it will provide benefit to your system. Thank you for your order
