Hi all

I have a question in mind for a very long time. Can liverock be put in Canister filter and function as I use it as in the display tank?

Since I have no extra room for the rocks and I heard that rock helps with natural filtration that is breaking down of NO 2 and 3.

My question in mind is in the canister filter, there is no lighting.

Will it affect the bacteria growth?

2nd question is the good bacteria seems to like oxygen..but in canister filter the flow is so strong that it will give very little oxygen to the rock...

So hows how?

No it won't function the same because there is no light. It will break down trite and amm but not trate...you need anaerobic zoned for bacteria to break down trates. Do you need more biological filtration? I would say that with rock in a tank you would really not need this...also if you have a fuge it's just another reason why you won't need it.
