Markushka
I'm looking into doing DIY supplements for things like Mg and Ca. I can get MgCl and CaCl pretty cheap locally, and both are readily dissolvable. But by adding these, I'd also be adding excess chloride. Do I need to offset the addition of extra Cl- with Na+? Would this also raise my SG? I guess my question is what would happen if I did not offset the extra Cl-? Link to comment
lakshwadeep
Here's one article that considers extra chloride additions in dosing; notice sodium bicarbonate is used to add alkalinity and sodium: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php#16 Link to comment
