stephen
Has anyone had any experience with these? They are supposed to be tri-phosphor (I dunno what that means). What color light do these things give off? Link to comment
samw
Yes, I have them. They're my favorite. Here's the previous thread about it. http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/showthread...=&threadid=2131 I just got 2 new bulbs and they look even brighter than my 7 month old bulbs shown in the photo. I'll post new photos shortly. Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Those are the GE PC lamps that All-Glass aquariums sells right? Personally I think coralife 10,000K lamps are a better choice. But, to more directly answer your question, that lamp will give off a relatively pure white light. Link to comment
samw
A picture (or 3) is worth a 1000 words. I agree, GE lights are whiter and brighter. However, I can not say which is better for coral growth as I have not done any side by side comparisons on that. The following pics are taken at night time with no other external light sources. Brand new Coralife 10,000K on the left vs brand new Coralife 50/50 on the right: Brand new Coralife 10,000K on the left vs 7 month old GE 9325K on the right: Brand new GE 9325K on the left vs 7 month old GE 9325K on the right: You can see why people recommend changing PC bulbs every 6 months. The 7 month old GE bulb is noticeably less bright than the new bulb. Tank with 2 New GE Bulbs Link to comment
