9325k PC Bulbs

Has anyone had any experience with these? They are supposed to be tri-phosphor (I dunno what that means). What color light do these things give off?

Those are the GE PC lamps that All-Glass aquariums sells right? Personally I think coralife 10,000K lamps are a better choice.

 

But, to more directly answer your question, that lamp will give off a relatively pure white light.

A picture (or 3) is worth a 1000 words.

 

I agree, GE lights are whiter and brighter. However, I can not say which is better for coral growth as I have not done any side by side comparisons on that.

 

The following pics are taken at night time with no other external light sources.

 

Brand new Coralife 10,000K on the left vs brand new Coralife 50/50 on the right:

You can see why people recommend changing PC bulbs every 6 months. The 7 month old GE bulb is noticeably less bright than the new bulb.
