Trying a different tactic

Y'all may have read about my house smelling like a sewer.

 

I can't take it any more!

 

I'm draining the main tank, putting the LR into either buckets or Rubbermaid containers with PHs moving the water around.

 

Once I get all the brown water out, I'll re-fill with fresh saltwater and try this cycling/curing thing again.

 

The thing that made me decide to try this route is the LR rubble I had in the first Rubbermaid container that no longer stinks. It smells like the bottom of the ocean, but not like the bottom of a septic tank.

 

I'll let y'all know how it goes in the next few days.
