Warboz
I have a penguin mini HOB (no media) and I was thinking...what if I filled it up with some macro. Is this possible or a good idea? Link to comment
theclearblue
Asked this same question a few days ago... didn't know of someone who actually did it though. Let me know if you give it a try. Link to comment
Warboz
What would be the downside, if any, of doing this? Right now there's nothing in the HOB, if I toss some marco in there it will at least be a good place to eat nitrates once I get a clown. Link to comment
ninhsavestheday
you can do it. its just that its small and you have to prune more often. you might want to reduce the flow too. Link to comment
Warboz
Does anyone know if on a penguin you can adjust the flow without changing the impeller? And what about lighting for this little guy? Link to comment
theclearblue
know this is getting to be kind of old, but you can break off three of the blades of the impeller, making sure to keep it even. This cut down the flow on mine considerably. Keep me updated on what you're doing, I'm interested to see how this turns out. Link to comment
Warboz
I havn't done anything yet to it, things are settling in my tank...waiting for things to attach and money to come in before I do anything. I was thinking about just talking to Reefer_Buddah and getting cpr like fuge from him, they look really really nice. I'll let you know what I decide to do. Link to comment
