DRBOB
So my 20gal, 20lbs cured LR, 20lbs. live sand, PC lighting 64W X 2 powerhead, skimmer (curently off) and whisper filter w/o media, is 15 days old. NH3=0 NO2=<0.3 Ph 8.3 SG 1.024, Phos=0, KH 9 Ca=400. I had a slight bump in NH3 several days ago, now 0. No inverts, fish or other inhabitants as of yet. I now have a ton of green algae. Is it too soon to bring in a cleanup crew? Whadouthink? bob Link to comment
Isaka
You are close, but I would wait until you have consistant readings for over 1 week straight. Then maybe add 1 or 2 hermit / snails (whichever you prefer) and see how it goes. Link to comment
Physh1
I would also wait a little longer....at least another week. Cameron Link to comment
Perpetual98
I added snails and hermits real early in my cycle on my 20g, mainly because I needed a crew for my 10g and I got a good deal. It was $1 for each snail and $1 for each crab. Nothing dead yet (that I've seen, it's hard to inventory those teeny hermits) so I'm not going to complain. Link to comment
