wamb0010
I have 28 gallon tank and I am dosing bulk reef supply recipe 1. How often do people dose to maintain. I have SPS so BRS says .4-.6ML per day/per gallon, which would put me at about 10ml a day of calc/alk? Is this right? Link to comment
CONSTANTNE
When I first started I went off of BRS and that was a good start. I would go by them and then test and adjust accordingly. Link to comment
lakshwadeep
Try measuring your tank's calcium/alkalinity usage over a few days to more than a week (including at least one water change). Then, use this calculator for dosing info. It's best to read the reefkeeping article it's based off of first (note: 2.8 dKH = 1 meq/L). http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/nov2002/chem.htm http://reef.diesyst.com/flashcalc/flashcalc.html Link to comment
Amphiprion1
You accidentally mixed those up: 1 meq/L = 2.8 dKH. Link to comment

It's better to just see how much your tank is consuming in one day. Then, use a calculator to figure out your dosing... Link to comment

First you need to bring up your parameters to be in check. SO make sure Mag, Calc, and Alk are all up to par. after you achieve this dont dose for a day or two and retest. use the decline in minerals to find out what you need to dose. For example lose about 10 ppm of Calcium a day, according to that and my other drops over that span of time, i dose 15.2ml of brightwell reef code A and 11ml of reefcode B Daily. Link to comment
