im looking at setting up a 33long frag tank for softies mainly zoa's i had thought i might be able to get away with only 2 t5's as i plan to put them quite close to the surface.. would this work?

i assume the lights would be 4-5 inch from the water and the frag racks roughly 4-5 inchs under the water aswell.

(33 long is 48x12x12ish.. t5's would be 54watts)

I have this same tank with a 4 bulb Tek light, and when I had just one actinic and one 10k on, it actually lit the tank up fairly well. I have the light about 10 inches off the water, so moving it closer you could probably grow some decent stuff with it.

thats plenty of light for that tank for softies

U can grow any softies under that...but get a 4 bulb fixture so when u get bored with softies u don't have to buy a new fixture!
