Genj
Does anyone know if having a closed lid AIO tank suffers from reduced dissolved oxygen levels? Link to comment
supernip
no, this has more to do surface agitation. You wont hit the upper limits of partial pressures and random diffusion through the air slots. No worries here. You have bigger problems with a closed lid like heat and condensation Link to comment
Genj
Yeah, the heat issue is holding me back at the moment. Daytime temps hit 83 in a room that I maintain at 73. I'm waiting for a few higher CFM fans to arrive, and I've already opened up the intake slits on the AP which helped a bit. I'm considering adding an additional fan if needed. Also, you mentioned condensation, would you mind elaborating on that, and what problems other than salt buildup on the light cover? Thanks! Link to comment
supernip
it doesnt just go onto the light cover, it also drips down the side of the tank in some cases. its fine I guess, I just find it annoying when I have to open the hood to do maintenance or feed and theres water flowing everywhere. Im also uncomfortable with ion filled water being so close to electrical components Link to comment
Genj
Yes, I've experienced a little bit of that already as well. Just making sure that there wasn't something else I was missing. Thanks for the information! Link to comment
