Increased water aeration or circulation

I'm running a 7gal minibow with a prizm skimmer on the back and a powerhead in the tank. I'm wondering if you guys use a powerhead or fans to increase the aeration on the water surface. I'm just a bit concerned about pH fluctuations in my small tank due to inadequate movement on the water surface. The only thing moving the water around on the top is the outlet on the skimmer. Plus, I'm still using the standard hood that came with the minibow.

 

Any ideas/opinions?

id keep the top open and definitely use something that creates suface level aggitation. It will help with the gas exchanges. You wont need a lot in a tank that small.
