min Posted January 31, 2004 Share Posted January 31, 2004 i am going to be setting up a 18g tank and was wondering if i would need a skimmer for it i am aware that many ppl do fine without one with frequent water changes, but how often and how much will i need to do water changes if i decide not to get a skimmer? thank you! KevinFJB Posted January 31, 2004 Share Posted January 31, 2004 I highly recommend it. I have a Prizm on my 10 g along with a Penguin 125 with a chemipure carbon insert. I also have a 5 g with only an aquaclear mini and the chemipure. The 5 gal suffers from much more algae than the does the 10. Both have lots of circulation. Link to comment
