anyone tried these lamps from staples?

I am thinking of buying a new desk for my comp that is $70, There is a 20 off 100 coupon for staples, so I figure that I can buy $30 worth of stuff for $10. I stumbled upon those lamps, and since the thought of a small nano reef is always in the back of my head, I wondered if those would work for lighting on a 2.5?

 

Has anyone seen/used them before? Do they take PC's, and would they work well with some eggcrate perhaps for a tank that would just sit on a desk?
