luckydud13
1. I am planning on upgrading my 10 gallon system by adding a sump via an overflow. How strong should the return pump be? How do you know? 2. Are these parameters ok? If not how can I fix them? Ammonia: .05ppm doing a water change PH- 8.0 Nitrate 7ppm Nitrite - 0 Thanks a ton, lucky Link to comment
lakshwadeep
Parameters are fine, but ammonia should be zero. What test kit brands are you using? Link to comment
luckydud13
API Master Saltwater Kit. But, for Ammonia I think I acutally used the one from my freshwater tank. The freshwater kit I mean. That might have affected it. Im going to do a water change anyway. Link to comment
lakshwadeep
The ammonia (and for most other tests) color cards are different for saltwater. http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Downloads.html EDIT: My link was wrong; please look at it now to see the comparisons of FW/SW color cards Link to comment
luckydud13
That would explain it. Thanks Link to comment
littlelacho
That would probably be the reason for the hammer not being happy and losing the shrimp. Like you said above, do a wc as soon as possible. Get that Ammonia down and your hammer will probably be fine. Link to comment
