grinder143 Posted July 30, 2010 Share Posted July 30, 2010 i put a piece of deli shrimp in 2 weeks ago. i went out of town so i could not test. i did last night and 0 ammonia, 0 nitrate and 0 nitrite makes no sence to me unless ammonia had not started to rise? any ideas Link to comment
amnestia Posted August 3, 2010 Share Posted August 3, 2010 It could be that your cycle is over, add in another piece of deli shrimp and watch your levels. If it's steady at 0 then you're good to go. Two weeks is enough for some tanks, depends on how much bacteria was there to start with. Link to comment
lakshwadeep Posted August 4, 2010 Share Posted August 4, 2010 Do you have any live rock in the tank? If so, where did you get the live rock, and was it cured? What else is in the tank (i.e. livestock, sand, etc.)? You don't need to be adding any dead shrimp to have a successful tank. You don't need an ammonia spike or any type of noticeable "cycle" to have a successful tank. All you need is some live rock and patience. Link to comment
