kweckstrom
I wanted to share my experience with a horrible disease called "Reef Newbie Paranoia", or "RNP". I think it's something that every new reefer who has cycled a tank and added some livestock can relate to. It's located on my blog website at the URL below: http://www.weckstrom.com/index.php?itemid=245 Link to comment
TheCurriculum
I like the last sentence Patience is key to success in this hobby Good luck on controlling the RNP Link to comment
kweckstrom
I think i'll be fine at this point The tank's doing well, and I gave it its first feeding today. I held off yesterday since they were nipping at all the algae in sight that they could find. I got an interesting tonga branch yesterday that had hundreds of orange/pink and orange/green button polyps on it. It was cheap, but the catch was that I had to deal with the hair algae on it. Luckily I have a fuge with red algae and several mexican turbos in the tank. There's still a little algae on it, but part of it is dying off (competition with the red algae I assume, or just no nitrates) and there's 2 turbos on the branch that are hell-bent on cleaning all that crap up before they move to other areas. I have been incredibly fortunate in one aspect of this hobby: I have yet to lose a single critter. Link to comment
palaegic
Terrible to hear about your condition kweckstrom. Luckily, they have support groups - and you are a member of the very best one out there. Be brave. Watch the dosing. Link to comment
