I have a 11g mini with a raised fixture, with one daylight, and one actinic bulb. I just added a purple tip anenome, and am wondering about its lighting needs. Is it ok, for the light to be completly off at night? Or should I leve the actinic on? I am planning on purchasing a moonlight in the next few days.

Having all your lights off at night is just fine. Moonlights are usually just small LED's and although some people think they help with coral propagation / other things, they arent really going to make a difference as far as anything not surviving. I made a moonlight for my tank and its main purpose is to let me see whats going on in my nano at night (all sorts of weird stuff comes out).

Instead of buying a moonlight you should make one yourself . . super easy to do, costs only a few bucks. Check the DIY section of the site, lots of guys on here have made them.
