UnderWaterWorld
Can anyone tell me the mix (ratio) calculation to dose a 25 gallon with Calcium Chloride and Baking Soda? Link to comment
amnestia
Best to test them both and dose separately as needed. Reason is all different types of coral/coralline will uptake varying quantities of carbonate and calcium, no matter what marketing schemes tell you it's never a 1:1 ratio kind of dealy. Each tank is gonna be different. Test then start a dosing schedule. After about a week you'll know exactly how much you need to dose a day/weekly to maintain the levels you're lookig for. lakshwadeep
+1 for first testing over a few days/weeks to observe the calcium/alkalinity demand. Use this for the actual dosing steps. The first link is the article that the second link (a dosing calculator) is based off of. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/nov2002/chem.htm http://reef.diesyst.com/flashcalc/flashcalc.html Link to comment
idrm350
If you use the link Lak posted, which I highly recommend, you dose equal portions of part 1 and 2. Don't fiddle with the doses and attempt to balance calc and alk yourself. Link to comment
