I am currently using a ghetto "canopy" for my 10g. It's the plastic P.O.S. that comes with it, with 2x20w coralife pc's in it. I have the dash spotlight thingy put right in front of the space where the access panel into the tank was (removed) and connected to a spliced connector to a wall-wart dc power supply. Runs just fine on 9v, with much less light. It's on a timer, complementing my daylights. I like it. It was cheap. It will be incorporated into my next hood. Just my $.02.
