frostiex
Hi all, I have a couple questions: I have an older hood for my 15 galllon, and would like to convert it to pc lighting. right now the hood uses screw-in light bulbs. and I have 2 energysaving light bulbs in there. wondering what are some material and steps I would do to convert it to pc lighting? thanks Link to comment
vyger
I think the easy ... and cheap ..thing to do is just get a couple of the power compac screw in bulbs depending on what you plan to use the hood for ...if not you can just gut the existing stuff out of the hood and get a retrofit kit of power compac's .... get the proper length to fit inside and mount them inside strip light... I did it with a strip light on my 20gal high reef tank when I had it up and running. Link to comment
Guy
Vygers suggestion is definately the quickest and most pain free but if you are looking for the standard type PC bulbs, the AH supply 36 watt kits will do you right. You essentially need to gut the hood anyway and install the reflector and clips, the ballast mounts externally. Just another suggestion Guy Link to comment
