Ok, Ok, I have confused myself way to much here and need some clarification.

 

Lumens vs Watts vs Kelvins

 

Ive read that Lumens where more important in some books, here it is believed that high kelvin and watts are more important... MY BRAIN IS TEH MUSH!

 

So, what is more important? The intensity of the light, or the quality of the light? Is a high lumen rating a good indicator of a higher kelvin temp, or do lumens kind of depend on watts? ???

 

Also, can halogen lights be used for reef tanks? I can get a halogen light @ 250 watts for under 15 bucks... or would this not be broad enouph for a reef.

 

...and (yeah, another q) can the kelvin temps be generated using certain types of colored screens? Has anyone tried this?
