purple_stardust
Oh shoot, one more question just in case my husband gets home with the car before the LFS closes. Do you put the sand in first, then live rock on top of the sand, or the live rock and THEN the sand? I have heard both, and am confused (as usual)... Link to comment
palaegic
Recommend sand, then rock. In the end it won't matter much, you will be moving the rock around anyway. Tank will look like milk for about 6 to 10 hours. Link to comment
dickie52
I have always liked to place both in at the same time.....seems to look much more natural when the clouds clear.....Plus the rock can give the sand a jump start... Link to comment
~_~
If the rock isn't cured, then no sand until it is. If the rock is cured, then whatever. Link to comment
brahm
i place the base rocks, get them firm and stable on the bottom of the tank, then add the sand, then add the rest of my rock. Link to comment
Crakeur
sand in, then lay down saran wrap over the sand. pour in some water - gently baby gently, they love that tender touch- then add rock and water. minimize the sand storm. or you can add rock, water and then cut the corner off the bag of sand and pour the sand into the tank like your laying cement or spreading icing. in other words, with great care and a gentle touch.
