JsL
My firefish shares a rock where I've seen a bristle worm. The worm is at least 2" long. I've never seen the whole worm, just 2" of it. Well, the firefish brought food back into its burrow and the bristle worm came out and tried to take it. Now, my firefish has many thorns near its jaw. Is my fish ok? It seems to be fine, but common sense tells me it is hurting him. What do I do? How Ironic, I was just reading up on bristle worms last night. The rock is getting a freshwater dip very soon...like later tonight! Link to comment
Crakeur
leave them be. symbiotic relationship forming. the worm won't go after the fish unless it is dying or dead. Link to comment
JsL
I'm not sure if i understand. So, the firefish shares food with the worm? Link to comment
jetor
I don't know if I would call it a symbiotic relationship but the bristle worm shouldn't hurt the fire fish unless he dies. I have had foot long worms in my big tank and they never bothered anything other than what was already dead, decaying or excreated......these worms are scavengers not predators. Link to comment
