Helios 55x2 system ballist..pure junk. How long can you run a tank with out lights?

Well today is the day that my powercompact ballist died. I bought this ballist from Steve (Acrylicman on ebay)with his tank (25GAL). I was having problems with one of the side of the ballist, it sometimes won't fire back in Sept . Since i was running only FOWLR one 55watt for 25gal should be enought. I've been trying to get warranty work from Commodity Axis and came up empty. They said they don't do warranty work from Canada. Be having a hard time contacting Steve. Came into my office today and the other side died too.

 

How long can you run a tank without lights?

 

 

What's a good replacement ballist i can use while still keep my end caps. It's square with 4 wires

Icecap 3000. 3 year warranty, lots of options now and down the road for what bulbs you can light. Plus it is remote so you can keep it behind the tank and not above it.
