NYCITYDAVE Posted January 20, 2004 Share Posted January 20, 2004 I bought a finger leather about 10 days ago and it has not opened up yet in the tank. Of course when i turn the lights off it closes but when I leave the lights on for the 10 to 12 hours it doesnt seem to open up completye. At the LFS it looked beautiful. Is this normal? sturuomo Posted January 25, 2004 Share Posted January 25, 2004 The FL needs moderate to high water flow. Stick a small waterjet next to it. So the flow skims just over the top. Has the FL formed a glossy waxed surface? sturuomo. Link to comment
tinyreef Posted January 26, 2004 Share Posted January 26, 2004 is it opening or just not opening as much as it was in the lfs? it could just be adjusting itself to your lighting. it could also be the flow rate is a little too much versus in the lfs. corals need time to adjust to their surroundings just like all animals. hth Link to comment
