Should I use a plenum?

I was thinking about setting up a standard 10 gallon tank as a nano reef and was wondering if the use of plenums was either suggested or even considered. I have been out of the reef keeping hobby for a couple of years.

I wouldn't bother with a plennum in a 10, unless you're going to be using a sump which you can dedicate to a DSB/plennum set-up. To do it properly in you 10 gallon display tank would take up too much room. You should be able to export all the Nitrates you need with weekly water changes.

Thank you. I used to have a 55 gallon reef, so things were different.
