Nano-Cube suggestions please

Getting a Nano-cube. From my current reef I am going to take a pound of live sand to mix with 9 pounds of new sand, about 10 pounds of the live rock and some of the corals. My concerns are these: Is 24 watts enough power for my branching hammer coral and branching frog spawn even though they'll be 5-6 inches from the light? Is the 106 gph/9x turn over enough flow? Should I leave the bio balls and other media in the filter or will they become a nitrate factory? Should I use additives or just change 1-2 gallons of water a week?
