Need help setting up my 16g VIA AQUA LV418 TANK...LIKE TO HEAR FROM ALL VIA AQUA OWNE

Ok I just received this tank, from a trade I did in the classified section... I love the tank, want to set it up with 1 or 2 fish some live rock, and sand, and a clean up crew... to start...

 

Basically i have the stock tank with the power head that comes with the undergravel filter.. The lights are 2-pl18 1 -blue and the other not sure. I plan to add a regent 70watt hqi set ups which I make on my own.

here are my questions...

 

1. What filter do you reccomend, I was thinking of the aqua clear.

do you reccomend using filter as a fuge for a newbie.

 

2. Is the stock power head ok or do I need a new one.

 

3. I would like a good but inexpensive digital thermometer??

 

4. What test kits do i need. I like the salifert brand

 

5. What brand and size of heater.

 

6. Is Ph monitor needed.

 

7. I plan to by my water pre mixed at LFS.

 

8. Anything else I need that I did not mention...
