MB3
Last month I went downstairs in the middle of the night and saw this worm swimming around my tank. It was about 8 inches long very spaghetti like and looked like it had little legs on each segment. It was also bright green. It seemed to be attracted to my 'moonlight' led. I have not yet mastered the art of taking clear pictures of the tank so I included some with the flash and some without. The tank has been up for a few months now, I only saw this that one night, never again. http://208.179.242.133/mb/fish1.jpg http://208.179.242.133/mb/fish2.jpg http://208.179.242.133/mb/fish3.jpg http://208.179.242.133/mb/fish4.jpg Link to comment
birdman204
That thing is pretty long. A clearer picture would help ( not that that is easy at night ). Does it only come out at night? can you find it during the day? Link to comment
MB3
Yeah I was surpised how long it was too. I have only seen it that one time, and it was very late at night. I took about 50 pictures of it, but sadly, the ones I posted are the clearest ones. What really surprised me was the length, and the fact it could hide so well in my tank for 2 months without me seeing it. I often come down at night to see that is out and about and that thing shocked me. I can only hope it is still in there and still alright. Originally posted by birdman204 That thing is pretty long. darwin604
Check out this link: http://www.utahreefs.com/forum/forum_posts...p?TID=1501&PN=1 scroll down the thread and he's got a pic of something that looks like what you have. Apparently its a long form of bristleworm . . and yes, some bristleworms will 'swim'. d. Link to comment

MarLooney
yo i think i had one of those... except it met my impeller. bright green... don't think it was a bristleworm at all. Link to comment
darwin604
Well, after some further searching I came up with this link: http://www.animalweb.com/animalworld/showa...mal.asp?iid=855 According to the site bristleworms do come in green and some species can grow to up to 6 meters. So it may be a less recognized form but still technically a bristleworm. Here is another link with more or less the same info and a couple pics of some long bristleworms. Also confirms the fact that bristleworms will swim. http://www.wildsingapore.com/chekjawa/text/s314.htm HTH. d. Link to comment
