crollison Posted June 26, 2002 Share Posted June 26, 2002 Should I use B-ionic calcium plus magnesium or just use calcium? Also does anyone know how to make a diy doser that is pratical for a nano? All the ones I've seen all require you to dose to the sump. I don't have room and don't want to hang a bottle over my tank. Thanks.... Curt Link to comment
NanoReefer53 Posted June 26, 2002 Share Posted June 26, 2002 Magnesium is necessary to keep up your alk and CA levels. So unless you do water changes every week or two, i would add magnesium. To make a DIY doser, you can use some regular bottles or the one it's already in. Make two holes but have them airtight. Have one line connected to one hole and one to the other. The second one should be extended to the bottom of the bottle. Connect an airpump to the other end. Set the air pump on a timer to pump. Adjust times to get the correct amount of fluid that you want.
