You know the crappy skimmer you were talking about in the beginning (The kind that use Rio pumps) I had one of those years ago on my first tank... dude, it rocked. Im a fan of wet skimming, and it pulled out some thick gunk (This was 1998) Since then the only thing I've learned was, that skimmer shouldn't have done anything, but it wasn't that bad, it got crap out of the water.
