laserman24
My 10g has been running for a few months now and I cant seem to get the ph up to 8.3. Its got 13lbs LR, 10lbs sand, temp 79, nitrate 0, nitrite 0, ammonia 0 and the ph is around 7.8 - 8.0 all the time. I use RO/DI water and change a 1/3 of the water every week. I got some kent superbuffer, should I be adding that to the premixed saltwater. Thanks Jason Link to comment
birdman204
SUPERBUFFER should be mixed with fresh before adding, use it in addition to your normal top off. use it according to directions to raise your ph, then find out a scheduled regiment to help keep it balanced. Link to comment
Reefer_Buddha
also make sure the top isnt covered totally. Keep water flow high for gas exchange. Also remember ph is different before and after light cycles. Link to comment
Reefer_Buddha
forgot to add, if you wana check your ph to see if its a flow issue...take a sample of your ph then take out about 1 cup of water. Let the water sit out a few hours and test the ph of that water. If its a major difference chances are you arent getting a good exchange in the tank itself. HTH Link to comment
