maroonclown Posted January 9, 2004 Share Posted January 9, 2004 Then you're missing the middle stage: nitrite. Nitrate is never 0 after cycle, unless you have an assload of algae. Your test results could be inaccurate because of algae, it absorbs all nitrogen-based chemicals. These include Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate. If your tank is cycled, your nitrate should be 10ppm+. Just wait a month or two. Link to comment
