bpl09
i got a ton on free chaeto from this guy about 2 weeks ago. I am in the process of buying a sump/fuge for it. This was right before i went on vacation for a week so i just left it in a 5 gallon bucket with a light (on a timer) over it. Its been like this for 2 weeks. When I get the sump, will there be any problems with using this chaeto that has been sitting still for 2 weeks? Link to comment
BLoCkCliMbeR
ive had some just sitting in a bucket of water many times. it should be ok as long as its still firm. it just grows better if its got more agitation. and keep a light on it. Link to comment
Oceanus
Should be fine. I'd swish my had in there once or twice a day. Link to comment
Amphiprion1
I don't see an issue with it. Keeping a light over it will prevent anoxia and subsequent fouling by encouraging photosynthesis and oxygen production. Still, a powerhead or occasional stirring would be helpful in many ways. It is more ideal for the algae, since it will help distribute waste products and bring in nutrients. Link to comment
