mxkris
I have recently been getting patches of what looks like grass growing on my frag plugs.. now it has popped up on a rock... How can I get rid of this? I try plucking it off my zoa frag plugs like every other day but it's REALLY on there! Tooth brush wont get it off.. and you cant just pull it off by hand. I know there's cyano too.. I cant get rid of it either.... My tank hates me! Link to comment
Squeaky
what are your tanks parameters? How long are you leaving lights on per day? Link to comment
bird
Really, the only sure cure is to get the tank's nutrient load under control. Heavy feeding, bad water for changes/top-off, phosphae rich foods and other additives, out of whack water parameters, even high temps and improper/old lighting can all or in part contribute to nuisance/unwanted algae growth. It can be frustrating, but there are solutions. What water source are you using? Is it RO/DI? How many fish and how often are you feeding? What are your tank parameters and tank size? and it can go on... There probably is nothing you can do to instantly get rid of it if it has already taken hold, but there are things you can do to keep it from spreading any further. Until pple know more about the specifics of your tank though there really isn't much help you can get here. List things like temp water source additives how many fish/feedings tank size lighting and so on... Link to comment
BobbyL1212
After doing all of this ^ Purchase algae grazers if you don't already have them. Turbo Snails are pretty good on this stuff. Also, more flow! More flow will blast away the entangled brown crap. Link to comment
