darwin604
Depends whats in your tank. Try to get as much stuff from an established tank as you can. Your LFS should have LR and LS available. Other than that, just wait it out. Its tempting to put stuff in the tank right away, but its worth the wait! d. Link to comment
caja
reefer2, you need to slow down. The cycle will happen in it's own time and shouldn't be rushed. In fact you'd be surprised at what you will find appearing in your tank while it cycles. If you need to entertain yourself waiting for the cycle to finish, spend hours staring at the rocks waiting for something to crawl out of a hole, or if that isn't enough excitement for you, grab a flashlight after the lights have been out for a couple hours. Lots of cool things crawl out and about at night. Patience. Link to comment
reefer2
how long will it tak for my dead rock to become live rock:) Link to comment
caja
How many pounds of LR and how many pounds of dead rock did you use in the tank? It will take several months for the beneficial bacteria to begin to colonize the dead rock. It first needs to reestablish itself on your cycling LR in order to reproduce and spread to the dead rock. Again...patience, hard for a 13 year old I know, but you can do this. Link to comment
