The preskimmer is simply a box the sits over the intake pump and water flows into the box over one lip, where a small sponge is present to catch surface scum. However, I am not sure if the box they make fits with the equipment they sell. The box has a screw that is tightened around the pump to hold it in place and the fuge pump is smaller than the skimmer pumps so it might not work without a larger pump. I am basing this on my equipment but I have the smaller hob fuge with the powerhead that comes with the kit. Link to comment
londonaussie Posted December 31, 2003 Share Posted December 31, 2003 I have the medium aquafuge and the bak pak2 with pre skimmer. I haven't tried your configuration but I will say that the pre skimmer takes up alot of room even for my 20g. I removed it and well the skimmer is still picking up lots of green and brown gunk from my water. Link to comment
