zzpw3x
I have air bubbles everywhere in my tank that seem to be forming form within the tank, like the dissolved oxygen is reforming into air bubbles and then floating to the water surface. Sometimes during day if I look really closely at the sand surface, I will see hundreds of air bubbles just waiting to be released. If I bump the side of the stand a hundred or so will release but they always get replaced by new bubbles in a short time. My tank is cycled, but is just over 2 weeks old. Is this normal for a new tank? Is this a problem? Thanks, Dale. Link to comment
jasontatro
This is totally normal in a tank this age. It is just the bacteria in the sand bend releasing gases. Dont be surprised if you see air bubbles carry pieces of sand up to the surface with them. It is probably most active during the day right? Dont sweat it. It will die off soon enough. As I recall, this is about the time that you are going to experience your diatom bloom... aka brown patches in the sand. Dont sweat this either. It too shall pass. Just be patient. Link to comment
